This donation has impacted our students in the following ways:\r\n\r\nThe headphones have allowed students to use technology in class to accelerate their learning in core subjects, regardless of socioeconomic background.\r\n\r\nThe drone kit has allowed us new avenues in STEM education, enabling hands-on, kinesthetic, and visual -spatial learning and reasoning opportunities for students who are particularly in need of these types of activities.\r\n\r\nIn year one, this funding was able to impact over 34 students across grades 1-5, and allowed 13 students to have the necessary equipment to compete in a STEM-based regional competition, which they might otherwise not have been able to do. \r\n\r\nThese materials will also impact additional students in the years to come.\r\n\r\nThis grant demonstrates the State of Nevada and the Department of Education's commitment to empowering the futures of the next generation of students, no matter their past.","fullyFundedDate":1768746654081,"projectUrl":"project/aerial-automation/10035921/","projectTitle":"Aerial Automation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kindred","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8132228_orig.jpg?crop=1324,1324,x0,y8&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699413588699","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8132228"},{"teacherId":10411318,"projectId":10037967,"letterContent":"Thank you for providing the wobble stools and a interlocking puzzle to my students. The wobble stool has been assisting student's sensory regulation through movements and proprioceptive input. Also, this sitting facilitates core strength and improves student's posture during writing.\r\nSome of my students enjoy sitting on stool more than sitting on regular classroom chair, which increases compliance and participation during the occupational therapy sessions. .","fullyFundedDate":1768770266181,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-strategies-to-assist-students-be/10037967/","projectTitle":"Sensory Strategies To Assist Students be Successful","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Martins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10411318"},{"teacherId":10398843,"projectId":9991329,"letterContent":"My students are loving their new books! Because of your kindness, our students now have access to engaging, high-quality materials that will make a lasting difference in their learning experience.\r\n\r\nWe are especially grateful for the Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! series and the Elephant & Piggie books. These stories have already brought so much joy and excitement into our classroom. The humor, expressive illustrations, and relatable characters capture our students' attention in a way that makes reading feel fun and meaningful. Even our most hesitant readers are eager to participate, laugh, and engage with the stories. These books are helping to build confidence, encourage a love of reading, and create shared moments of joy among students.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the National Geographic nonfiction books have opened up a whole new world of discovery for our class. Students are fascinated by the real-life topics, vivid photography, and interesting facts. These books are not only improving reading skills but also sparking curiosity about science, animals, geography, and the world around us. It is amazing to see students independently picking up these books, asking questions, and wanting to learn more.\r\n\r\nYour donation of headphones has also made a huge impact. With the increasing use of technology in our classroom, having access to headphones allows students to fully engage in digital learning without distractions. They can now listen to audiobooks, participate in interactive lessons, and complete online activities at their own pace. This supports individualized learning and helps each student stay focused and successful.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom environment has become more inclusive, engaging, and supportive. You have helped create opportunities for students to grow academically while also fostering creativity, independence, and a genuine love for learning. These resources will continue to benefit our students every single day.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of all of our students, thank you for believing in our classroom and investing in their future. Your kindness and support truly make a difference, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1769021629943,"projectUrl":"project/reading-materials-for-first-graders/10044773/","projectTitle":"Reading Materials for First Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McGinnis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8131801"},{"teacherId":8498754,"projectId":9994086,"letterContent":"The students are loving the new reading areas in our room. Having the spinning shelves in multiple areas of the room allow them to get books easily and without too many distractions of others around them. Each of the shelves are separated by genre making it easy for them to find books of interest as well. \r\n\r\nHaving the additional reading materials has been exciting for the class. My students were thrilled when they walked in and saw the new items! As you know, teachers and schools often have limited resources and funds so it is awesome that we are able to make our classroom even better with your help.\r\n\r\nAlmost all of my students are headed to kindergarten next year so they have all been trying to tackle the challenging task of shoe tying! Since we need to leave our shoes on at school, the little wooden shoes are perfect for my students to be able to sit and practice. The bright colors of the shoes and laces just make them fun too. Nobody wants to be stuck in Velcro shoes forever! \r\n\r\nMy students especially love their new cozy box. The quiet corner is an essential area in any preschool classroom and their new box makes that area even more comfy and private. The kids love to read books there, play with fidget and sensory items and just relax and unwind. We added some new blankets and pillows in the area as well so it is just perfect!","fullyFundedDate":1768691322708,"projectUrl":"project/miss-kayces-kiddos-kozy-korner/10024857/","projectTitle":"Miss Kayce's Kiddos Kozy Korner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kayce","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10405048_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768437134734","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10405048"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96321","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":637,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.9,"schoolId":96321,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Thomas O'Roarke Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Thomas O'Roarke Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/clark-county-school-district/thomas-o-roarke-elementary-school/96321"}
