These materials will help my students to have hands on experiences, use pictures to help them communicate, and have play materials to help them learn. Reading puppets will help them have an immersive reading experience by helping them sequence the stories and follow along in a fun and engaging way! The colored printer and ink will be used to print colored PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) pictures. These pictures will help them communicate throughout their school day with their peers, teachers, and other therapists. Using colored PECS pictures will help my students connect real world objects with the pictures they will use. Last year due to Covid my students missed out on using PECS pictures with their peers, teachers, and other therapists. These materials will help learners at all levels show their abilities and communicate their needs. Many of my students use alternate ways (pictures) to ask and answer questions and get wants and needs met. These materials will help students learn and better understand story elements and reading foundational skills that are in the Nevada Academic Content Standards. They will be able to ask and answer questions, understand different types of stories, and actively engage in group reading activities.
