We have (55) 4th and 5th grade GATE students that have read and completed The Red Pyramid. The books have handled many trips home and even on their vacations and because they are hardback, I know our future students will be able to enjoy them for years to come. \r\n\r\nThe fire that is lit inside students when they complete something that challenged them, even when they doubted themselves, is indescribable. Many of the students were able to begin the next book in the series and our school librarian even ordered more copies so that more students could continue reading about the adventures of the characters as they conquered Ancient Egypt. \r\n\r\nThe other books we received were equally wonderful: our Battle of the Books groups begin meeting next month and students have come regularly to check out copies of the Battle books from our classroom, even students that are in surrounding rooms who knew I had copies have come to check them out, too! It feels wonderful to have access to so many books that are begin used happily! Because of you, my 5th graders now have class sets of novels to read, discuss, and enjoy together. Having their own copies in hand makes such a difference—it allows every student to fully participate, follow along, annotate, and dive deeper into the story.\r\n\r\nThe excitement was immediate. Students couldn't wait to crack open the books. This gift opens the door to richer discussions, stronger comprehension, and a shared reading experience that will stay with them long after we finish the unit.\r\n\r\nYour support goes far beyond books; you've given my students confidence, joy in reading, and the sense that people believe in them and their learning. Your support through Donors Choose has truly made a lasting impact on our classroom.\r\n\r\nWith the arrival of these books, my students dove into literature in a way I've never seen before. Not only did the novels strengthen their reading comprehension and critical thinking skills, but they also sparked empathy and imagination. We had rich, meaningful conversations that extended beyond the curriculum. One student shared, \"This book helped me understand what it's like to walk in someone else's shoes.\" That kind of insight is priceless.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our classroom transformed into a vibrant reading community.
