My classroom consists of such a diverse group of learners. I have some students that aren't able to read beyond a few sight words, and some that are reading chapter books meant for 4th graders. I am constantly looking for materials and strategies to both assist my low readers and push my high readers even higher. No matter their ability, they are always asking for time to read on their own or with a friend. Our most popular classroom incentive is to read aloud to another class. Often times, it is not just another classroom full of strangers. It allows them to read to a younger or older sibling or a friend. They always look forward to this opportunity.
