Moments like that remind me how much access to the right tools can boost not only engagement, but also confidence.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far has been seeing students use these resources during class projects where they've had the chance to think creatively, work together, and take ownership of their ideas. Some of my students who are usually more hesitant became more involved because they had something tangible to work with and build from. It's been exciting to watch them collaborate, problem-solve, and feel proud of what they're creating. These materials have truly helped to make learning real and personal for them.\r\n\r\nAs we continue with our current lessons and projects, my students will keep using these resources to strengthen their ideas, deepen their learning, and grow their confidence. Knowing that I now have a variety of materials, will benefit my students immensly.\r\n\r\nI looped up with these children from second to third grade, having them two consecutive years has challenged me to provide experiences they have not had. I am a science/STEM nerd, best known as the \"Crazy Science Lady\" in a white lab coat, so being able to challenge their thinking, whether individually or whole class, has become an expensive venture for me this year. Providing them with the opportunities to use their \"will it work\" mentality with STEM experiments and creativity for individuals and small group tasks, became out of my reach financially. Knowing that I now have tools needed to push them intilectually and creatively is fabulous! \r\n\r\nYour donations of these tools will set me up for challenging my students to push themselves out of their comfort zone, and try new ways of looking at math, science, technology, and engineering.","fullyFundedDate":1769201006440,"projectUrl":"project/third-grade-instructional-materials-for/10015760/","projectTitle":"Third Grade Instructional Materials for My Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wamsley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3591273_orig.jpg?crop=585,585,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1595344085192","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3591273"},{"teacherId":8040052,"projectId":10008004,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting the creation of fun and engaging literacy stations in our classroom. My students aren't just looking at diagrams of geometric shapes or mechanical parts on a screen anymore; they are engineering solutions. They are learning that if a design fails, they can troubleshoot the file, adjust the settings, and try again. It has turned \"mistakes\" into essential steps of the scientific method.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for the students is the speed and precision of this specific printer. We're using the new manipulatives daily during number talks and within our small‑group stations. A favorite project had students design and build \"fraction towers\" using the fraction strips and linking cubes: they sketched a plan, assembled pieces to represent unit fractions, and then explained to a partner how their towers showed equivalence and addition. Watching a student who usually avoids math proudly demonstrate that was priceless. The concrete tools turned a tough concept into a clear, joyful discovery.\r\nThe students were thrilled when the materials arrived — excited gasps, immediate teamwork, and nonstop questions as they explored every set. That initial energy translated into deeper math talk and stronger collaboration during centers. \r\nNext, we'll move from these concrete explorations to pictorial representations and abstract notation: students will sketch their models, write matching number sentences, and solve multi‑step word problems that require applying their new reasoning strategies.
