My classroom is filled with kindergarterns whois learning how to take turns, share, and play together, and sit. When I showed them the marble run they were curious about what to do with all the pieces. Once they were shown how to connect them, they became to build and create amazing towers. One student stacked his pieces as tall as he was, and then stood on a chair so he could continue building even higher! The resources helped create a more exciting and inclusive environment where all students felt encouraged to join in, try new things, and support one another. It was amazing to see students become more engaged, energized, and enthusiastic during activities.\r\nYour donation also helped strengthen our classroom community. I have been using the anchor chart paper to create colorful, easy-to-read posters that support our current lessons in reading, writing, and math, giving students a reference tool they can use independently throughout the day. During a recent writing lesson, students eagerly used the sentence starters and editing reminders from our anchor charts to improve their work, and it was exciting to see them confidently referring to the posters without needing extra help. When the students first saw the new materials, they were thrilled and immediately noticed how bright and helpful the charts were, and they were especially excited about the incentive prizes for positive behavior. The prizes have already helped motivate students to make responsible choices and work together respectfully. Their faces lit up as I introduced the markers, crayons, math manipulatives, dry erase pockets, reading resources, and prizes. They immediately wanted to explore everything and could not wait to start learning with them. Their enthusiasm reminded me how powerful new, engaging tools can be for young learners.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the resources every day during our literacy and math centers. One special moment was during our CVC word practice. Students used the dry erase pockets to build and write words like cat, dog, and pig. They were sounding out each letter, blending the sounds together, and proudly reading the words aloud. Because they could erase and try again, students felt confident taking risks and practicing independently. It was amazing to watch students.\r\n\r\nIn math, the manipulatives have made a huge difference as students count, sort, and compare numbers in hands-on ways. Instead of just hearing about numbers, they can touch and move objects to truly understand the concepts. The prizes that were ordered have also been a wonderful motivator, encouraging students to stay focused, work hard, and celebrate their effort, perseverance, and growth.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue using these resources as we work on beginning sentence writing, more advanced word families, and addition within 20. Students will use the crayons and markers to illustrate and write their ideas, while continuing to build confidence in reading and math.
