Our school has a beautiful courtyard that is currently not being used. I would love to incorporate bikes and scooters to get my students active and socializing in a natural setting. I would like to ensure their safety while learning to ride bikes and scooters, so helmets are a must. These materials will increase their balance and strength which will build confidence. This project will promote my students gross motor, visual motor and sensory motor skills through outdoor play. Children with autism need lots of support when learning social and communication skills. This project will provide a fun and active way to increase those necessary skills.
