Center time now begins with an explosion of creativity as students head to their morning buckets to construct towering magnetic tile fortresses, design intricate block cities, and fill paper with bright crayon drawings and watercolor washes. A particularly magical moment happened last week when a group combined the new paints and blocks to build a \"rainbow castle,\" carefully painting backdrop scenery before taking a well-deserved break to enjoy their fun, chocolatey snacks together. Thank you all so, so much!!! ❤️ We truly appreciate your generosity and support of our learners.\r\n\r\nThis new resource has been perfect for allowing our students to explore, learn, and have fun through water play. Students have enjoyed experimenting with different items that float, building block towers on the water, and even fishing for alphabet letters! These activities allow us to incorporate learning while also providing our students with a fun, hands-on sensory experience.\r\n\r\nOur students were very excited when they first saw the water table, and they continue to get excited whenever they notice that it is being prepared! Some of our students love the water so much that they have made several attempts to climb right in 😂, while others have pretended they were bobbing for apples! We have had the pleasure of exploring this resource both indoors and outdoors, and it has definitely become a classroom favorite.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, our explorations will connect with our weekly classroom activities and learning goals. Students will have opportunities to fish for letters, shapes, and other learning materials, as well as explore which objects might float or sink based on their material, size, and other characteristics. There will also be plenty of opportunities for students to simply enjoy free-choice water play while exploring a variety of water toys and materials throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping us add such a fun, engaging, and versatile learning resource to our classroom. Before these resources, several students would lose focus, rest their heads on their desks, or grow tearful simply because they were hungry. Just last week during phonics centers, a student who often comes to school without breakfast enjoyed a pack of Goldfish, sat right back down, and proudly sounded out three new words in a row. Having that quick boost gave him the exact energy and focus he needed to succeed.\r\n\r\nOur Next Steps\r\n\r\nNow that we have a steady supply of daily snacks, we are tying these treats directly into our math and social skills learning:\r\n\r\nSorting & Counting Practice: Students use snack time to practice foundational math skills, such as counting individual Goldfish crackers, sorting their fruit snacks by color, and graphing the class's favorite treats.\r\n\r\nBuilding Independence: Kids are practicing self-reliance and table manners by choosing their snack, working hard to open packages on their own, and cleaning up their spots afterward.\r\n\r\nThank you for nourishing our students' bodies so their minds can grow—your generosity directly impacts our classroom every single day!","fullyFundedDate":1782762059955,"projectUrl":"project/nourishing-little-learners/10129596/","projectTitle":"Nourishing Little Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Eyler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8506284_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1698800642467","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8506284"},{"teacherId":1553091,"projectId":10509442,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our classroom library is now filled with brand-new, engaging books that my students are eager to read. Because of you, my students now have access to resources that have truly transformed their learning experience in meaningful and lasting ways.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these materials, my students and I have been able to use them every single day. The cardstock and laminating pouches have allowed me to create durable, engaging bulletin boards and visual supports that students can refer to independently. The chart paper has become an essential part of our whole group instruction in math, reading, and writing, as well as during table group work like grammar practice. These visuals help students organize their thinking and stay actively involved in lessons.\r\n\r\nOne particularly special moment happened during a recent lesson when students used our chart paper to sort great topic sentences from not-so-great topic sentences. After discussing their thinking, they worked together to revise one of the weaker topic sentences and turn it into a strong, clear topic sentence. I watched as they collaborated, shared ideas, and built confidence in expressing themselves. Students who sometimes hesitate to participate were more willing to engage because they had clear supports in front of them.\r\n\r\nThe wobble chairs have also made a noticeable difference. Students use them daily, and they have helped many of my learners stay focused and comfortable during instruction. In addition, the name tags—complete with helpful hints—have become a valuable tool for all students, giving them quick access to information they need without interrupting their learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement in the room was immediate and genuine. My students' faces lit up with curiosity and joy as they explored each item. They were especially eager to try out the wobble chairs and immediately began noticing how the new tools would help them learn.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build on this momentum. Students will keep using these resources to deepen their understanding in current lessons and apply them to upcoming projects that require critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. In addition, students will continue to stay motivated and celebrated through our prize box, as well as birthday celebration certificates and small gifts that help build a positive and supportive classroom community. These materials have become an essential part of our daily routines and will continue to support student growth throughout the year.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and generosity have made a real difference for my students.
