My students need playground equipment like balls, hula hoops and jump ropes. These supplies would help to promote both a healthy and active lifestyle during recess time by giving the students different ways to be active. They would no longer spend their recesses wandering around looking for something to do. Having these supplies would also allow my students to develop both fine and gross motor skills as they learned skills like dribbling, jumping, shooting, and bouncing while playing with the playground balls. They would also learn how to jump and spin with the hula hoops and jump ropes. Finally, it would also allow my students to develop the ability to play cooperatively with others-a major social and life skill that we teach in kindergarten. I envision students playing all sorts of wonderful games alongside each other. The possibilities would be endless for my students and fun would be brought back to our recess time! Having jump ropes, different types of playground balls, and hula hoops would help to promote both a healthy and active lifestyle during recess time by giving the students different ways to be active and play cooperatively. Currently, my students have no equipment to play with during recess. Our playground features very little grass and lots of blacktop which means that there isn't a lot my students can do to burn some energy. Many students can be found wandering around looking for something to do during recess time- the fun has been taken out of recess. With your donation we could put the fun back in recess by giving the students balls to dribble and kick, hula hoops to spin, and jump ropes to play with.
