Instead of only learning about money through worksheets, they can now practice with materials that make the concepts feel real and engaging. One of my favorite moments was watching students work to count different amounts of money and explain how they knew they had the correct total. Their excitement showed me how much they enjoy learning when they can touch, sort, count, and practice what they are learning.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to build on these skills through classroom activities that allow students to make simple spending and saving decisions. We will continue practicing with money, learning about needs versus wants, and connecting financial literacy to everyday situations they can understand. These books definitely helped students to become engaged, lifelong readers.\r\n The students also got excited to read the choose your own adventure books and see if they were able to survive based on the choices they made. This was a new genre of book and the students loved reading these books with a buddy. They would work together to make decisions in the story to see if they could survive the wilderness, the sea, an earthquake, or the jungle.
