Students will gather every morning on the carpet. They will feel safe to share their stories and ideas with each other. Later in the morning they will listen to a story on the carpet. They will be inspired and encouraged to discuss what they have learned with their peers. They feel they belong to a community and this is a place where they are noticed and loved. When conflicts arise, the carpet will be their safe place to sit in a circle with their peers and teacher to find solutions. All students knowing their feelings are heard and valued. They end their day on the carpet, knowing they will be back tomorrow to learn and grow as an important member of our classroom community.

About my class
