Many of my students come from low-income households and do not have reliable access to printers at home, making it difficult to complete major academic assignments. Thanks to this project, students can now print essays, research projects, timelines, study guides, and source analyses directly in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThis printer has helped remove an important barrier for students pursuing college-level success. AICE International History is a rigorous course that gives students the opportunity to earn college credits through Cambridge examinations. Having reliable access to printing allows students to submit polished assignments, participate in peer review activities, and better prepare for the expectations of college coursework.\r\n\r\nThe project has also increased student confidence and engagement. Students take pride in producing professional-looking work and are more willing to revise and improve assignments when they can easily print updated copies. Most importantly, this project has supported equity in the classroom by ensuring all students, regardless of financial background, have access to the tools needed to succeed in an advanced academic program.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping empower my students and supporting their path toward college and future success.","fullyFundedDate":1760881949416,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-students-to-print-their-succe/9840205/","projectTitle":"Empowering Students to Print Their Success in History","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9713573"},{"teacherId":10457088,"projectId":10132294,"letterContent":"The laptop and mobile desk I received have already made a tremendous impact on my students' writing process. Instead of viewing revision as a chore, students are more motivated to reread, correct, and improve their work when using the laptop.\r\n\r\nThe mobility of the desk has been especially helpful because it allows me to easily work alongside students wherever they are in the classroom. I can conference with students individually or in small groups while they revise essays, respond to feedback, and practice important writing skills. Students are more willing to make changes to their writing digitally because edits are easier to organize and less intimidating than rewriting entire sections by hand.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is being able to see their writing improve in real time. They enjoy typing, revising, and using digital tools to check spelling, grammar, and organization. Many students take greater pride in their final drafts because the technology helps them produce polished work that looks professional.\r\n\r\nSome of my reluctant writers have especially benefited from this new technology. Students who previously became frustrated during revision are now more engaged and willing to keep working because the laptop makes the process smoother and more interactive. I have also seen students gain confidence as they independently edit and improve their own writing.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting our classroom and helping provide tools that encourage students to become stronger, more confident writers.","fullyFundedDate":1774187679441,"projectUrl":"project/the-writers-workshop-a-mobile-editing/10132294/","projectTitle":"The Writer’s Workshop: A Mobile Editing Station","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Solter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10457088_orig.png?crop=605,605,x4,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778677466973","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10457088"},{"teacherId":4713462,"projectId":9421873,"letterContent":"Thanks to your support, my students now have access to a complete, professionally bound set of calculus notes that they use every single day. Instead of loose papers or incomplete notebooks, each student has an organized resource they can rely on throughout the entire year. This has made a big difference in how they approach learning, because they can focus on understanding concepts rather than worrying about keeping track of materials.\r\n\r\nFor many donors, a spiral notebook maker might seem simple, but in the classroom it has transformed how students engage with content. By providing structured, printed notes, students are able to work at their own pace, revisit earlier topics easily, and stay organized during complex units. This is especially helpful in calculus, where ideas build on one another and students often need to look back at previous examples. Having everything in one place reduces frustration and allows students to spend more time thinking deeply about the math.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is how much students value having a complete and consistent resource. Several students have shared that they feel more confident knowing their notes are \"all there\" and easy to follow. Students who sometimes struggle with organization or pacing have especially benefited, as they can focus on learning instead of copying everything down. Overall, this tool has helped create a more supportive and effective learning environment where students feel prepared, organized, and ready to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1752423576440,"projectUrl":"project/binding-success-empowering-calculus-stu/9421873/","projectTitle":"Binding Success: Empowering Calculus Students With Custom Notebooks","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Naccarato","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4713462_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1522349513237","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/naccarato"},{"teacherId":10324822,"projectId":9849168,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in donating the supplies that accompany our standing whiteboards. Because of your kindness, our Building Thinking Classroom has become an even more engaging, collaborative, and inclusive space.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboard supplies allow students to actively stand, write, draw, erase, and revise their thinking together. This has been especially powerful for my English Language Learners who are just beginning to acquire the language. Being able to communicate visually at the whiteboards helps break down language barriers and gives them the confidence to share ideas with their peers. I've seen students who were once hesitant to speak now actively contributing, pointing, drawing, and collaborating with classmates in ways that feel natural and safe.\r\n\r\nYour donation has helped create a classroom environment where every student's thinking matters. From the moment they arrived, students were eager to use them, and their excitement translated immediately into meaningful academic engagement. The ability to move, collaborate, and visibly share their thinking has made learning more interactive and accessible for all students.\r\n\r\nThe rolling whiteboards have been especially impactful for my multilingual learners, as they allow students of different language backgrounds to communicate their ideas visually and collaboratively. By aligning with the BTC (Building Thinking Classrooms) method, these boards have encouraged productive struggle, student discourse, and critical thinking while incorporating physical movement into lessons. As a result, I have seen a dramatic increase in student participation, confidence, and overall engagement across all class periods.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the flexibility of the rolling whiteboards has allowed us to maximize our classroom space in ways that were not previously possible. With the TV trays, I've been able to implement the **Building Thinking Classrooms** model, which removes the obstacle of traditional desks and opens up the room for group work. This change has been especially impactful for my English Language Learners and AP Calculus students, as they can now move around freely, brainstorm together, and support one another's learning in a more dynamic way.\r\n\r\nOne specific moment that stood out was during a recent problem-solving session in calculus. Students were able to gather in small groups around vertical whiteboards and easily rearrange the TV trays as needed. The trays made it possible for them to shift quickly between collaborative discussions and independent thinking without losing focus. Their conversations were more energized, and the learning environment felt alive with mathematical discovery.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the TV trays, they were surprised at how different the classroom felt. Instead of rigid rows, they had flexibility—and many of them commented that it felt like a \"college classroom\" where they could truly think and work together. On test days, they also appreciated having their own individual space to work in a focused way, which helped maintain a balance between collaboration and accountability.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll continue using the trays to support ongoing projects in AP Calculus. Right now, students are working on a series of challenging real-world application problems, and the flexible setup allows them to spread out resources, discuss strategies, and refine their solutions together. Thanks to your donation, our students now have a small but mighty tool that's already making a big difference in how they experience learning each day.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I see firsthand how much students want to succeed—but sometimes, they face invisible challenges that get in the way. For many of my students, sitting still for extended periods of time can be incredibly difficult. Some deal with anxiety, some are managing attention-related struggles, and others simply have excess energy that needs a safe and appropriate outlet. Before we had bouncy bands, these students would often fidget in ways that distracted not only themselves, but also their peers. Tapping pencils, shifting constantly in their seats, or even getting up and wandering were daily occurrences—not because they didn't care, but because they were trying to self-regulate the only way they knew how.\r\n\r\nNow, thanks to your generosity, that has changed. The bouncy bands provide an outlet that's quiet, discreet, and highly effective. Students can stretch their legs, bounce their feet, and release energy while staying engaged with the lesson. It might seem like a small accommodation, but in practice, it's made a profound difference.\r\n\r\nOne of my students, a quiet and thoughtful learner, used to spend most of our independent work time rocking back and forth in his chair, often becoming frustrated with himself for \"getting in trouble\" over something he couldn't fully control. Since we installed the bouncy bands, he's calmer, more focused, and prouder of the work he produces. Another student, who has always been talkative and easily distracted, now uses the bands to help stay grounded during direct instruction—and she's raising her hand with relevant contributions more often than ever.\r\n\r\nThese tools are not just about movement; they are about access. They tell students, \"It's okay to need something different to be successful. Your needs are valid, and your success matters.\" That message goes a long way in building confidence and a sense of belonging in the classroom—especially for students who have previously felt labeled as \"disruptive\" or \"off-task.\"\r\n\r\nWe use the bouncy bands every single day. They're attached to the bottoms of student desks and are available to anyone who feels they help. What's been truly beautiful to witness is that students are using them without embarrassment or stigma. They've become a normalized part of our classroom culture—just one more tool we use to help everyone do their best.\r\n\r\nYour gift didn't just fund classroom equipment—it helped create a more inclusive, supportive, and equitable learning environment. You've contributed to a space where students feel seen, where their needs are met with compassion, and where their success is supported with the right tools.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you for believing in public education, in teachers, and most importantly—in children.
