I have learned over time that my students do better through activities that are fun and where students can work collaboratively. These criminal justice-themed escape rooms using Breakout EDU Kit & Platform Access allows students to engage with the material in a fun and collaborative manner. The escape rooms’ activities allow students to have immediate feedback by using the Fire 7 tablet. If they are unsuccessful in completing a challenge the lock will not unlock, allowing them to go back and find and learn from their errors before moving on. Students, within their groups, are able to cooperatively discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks that will allow them to open several different locks placed on the field boxes in one or more rooms in order to progress and accomplish a specific goal in a limited amount of time. The goal is to escape from each scenario.
