Our staff greatly appreciated the items that help improve their journalism. The new microphone options were especially popular; the shotgun mic is great for capturing student interviews in windy or loud areas. The lavalier microphones are useful for longer interviews and they are great at picking up sound clearly in longer interviews. \r\n\r\nThe organization tools have been especially helpful for me. I have to admit that organizers and totes in the supply room don't really hit the students in the same way as sound tools. They don't see it, and they don't touch them. But... it pays off for them in an equally important way. Our storage room was very unorganized, leading to situations where students couldn't find what they need. Having the storage bins creates a situation where nothing is lost, everything is easily accessible, and the class runs much more smoothly.","fullyFundedDate":1778070987445,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-organization-and-student-tools/10265648/","projectTitle":"Classroom Organization and Student Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Bathke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2483526_orig.png?crop=394,394,x2,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659824515467","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-bathke"},{"teacherId":2483526,"projectId":10256840,"letterContent":"This star of this donation is the new camera. While many people think of technology as simply a way to display information, this device has transformed how students interact with literature and with one another. We use it to access multimedia resources, facilitate collaborative writing, and provide immediate feedback during lessons. Whether students are exploring historical contexts through virtual experiences, participating in shared annotation activities, or revising essays in real time, the technology helps make learning more engaging, interactive, and accessible.\r\n\r\nThe feature that excites students most is the speed and reliability of the device. Lessons now flow smoothly without interruptions caused by slow loading times or system crashes. Students especially enjoy collaborative activities where they can see ideas develop in real time and contribute to discussions beyond the traditional classroom format. The ability to quickly transition between resources allows us to maintain momentum during rich literary conversations and keeps students focused on learning rather than waiting for technology to catch up.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who are often hesitant to share their ideas in class have particularly benefited from this technology. Through digital collaboration tools, they have found new ways to participate, contribute thoughtful insights, and receive individualized feedback on their writing. Seeing these students gain confidence and engage more actively has been one of the most rewarding outcomes of this project. Your support has helped create a classroom environment where technology enhances learning, encourages participation, and empowers students to reach their full potential.","fullyFundedDate":1777997538651,"projectUrl":"project/seamless-stories-closing-the-tech-gap/10139283/","projectTitle":"Seamless Stories: Closing the Tech Gap","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wharton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10460754"},{"teacherId":2483526,"projectId":9135810,"letterContent":"After some time, I can now report that this is one of the most helpful and impactful items we've ever received. Now, with a fast, reliable device at our front desk, students can get immediate support with finding books, accessing databases, and navigating digital resources. It has truly streamlined the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our library running, allowing me to spend more time directly helping students learn, explore, and create.\r\n\r\nWhat has surprised me most is how excited students are about the technology itself. The iMac's large, bright screen has become a natural gathering point—students crowd around it to look up titles, research authors, or get help accessing JSTOR or Gale for their projects. For many of our students, especially those who don't have access to a computer at home, this is the fastest and most powerful device they've ever used. They notice the speed, the clarity, and the ease of use immediately, and they love that the library feels more modern and welcoming because of it.\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting our students and helping us create a library where technology enhances curiosity, connection, and learning. Students browse independently for pleasure reads, participate in book club discussions, and often recommend titles to one another.
