The books have become an important part of our reading time, allowing students to explore new stories, build literacy skills, and engage more deeply with texts. The office supplies—such as dry erase markers, poster paper, pencil boxes, and glue—are now essential tools during lessons, giving students the materials they need to organize their work, collaborate with peers, and express their thinking clearly.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and genuine. They were eager to unpack the supplies and couldn't wait to start using them. Many students were especially thrilled to have their own pencil boxes and fresh materials, which gave them a sense of responsibility and pride in their learning. The new books also sparked curiosity, with students asking to read them right away and excitedly sharing what they discovered with classmates.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, students are now able to take their learning further through hands-on projects, group activities, and independent reading. They are using poster paper to plan and present ideas, dry erase markers to practice and revise their thinking, and books to deepen comprehension and discussion. Students now use them daily during math, literacy, and social studies lessons to brainstorm, collaborate, and solve problems together. One of the most meaningful moments came during a social studies project on immigration, when students used all three boards at once — one group charted timelines, another sketched migration routes, and a third responded to guiding questions. Seeing them move freely, revise their thinking, and explain their ideas to peers showed just how much these tools are enhancing their engagement and confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students' excitement was immediate. They gathered around, eager to write, erase, and share their thoughts, and several commented on how the whiteboards made learning feel more interactive and \"real.\" Instead of waiting their turn to participate, students now have expanded opportunities to express and visualize their ideas. This shift has helped them take greater ownership of their learning while giving me quick insight into their understanding through daily exit-ticket questions and collaborative problem-solving tasks.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue building on this momentum by integrating the whiteboards into ongoing project-based learning, peer-teaching activities, and end-of-unit gallery walks. Students will use them to plan multimedia presentations, lead mini-lessons for classmates, and showcase their collaborative work. These boards have opened the door to more dynamic and student-centered instruction, and we are deeply grateful to you for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1760693445530,"projectUrl":"project/transform-learning-with-3-whiteboards-m/9679500/","projectTitle":"Transform Learning with 3 Whiteboards: More Space for Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Parker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9943243_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756939703187","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9943243"},{"teacherId":2230228,"projectId":9606721,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generous donations to help my students have books that teach about events and people that came before us. \r\n\r\nWe began reading one of the books and have used the other books at this time to help us begin researching for 2 projects we are doing about Afro-Hispanic and Afro-Latino culture. I am so lucky to have such wonderful people who understand the impact and necessity of having not only everyday school tools and resources, but interactive and engaging materials. \r\n My students use their pencil pouches and seat pockets every single day. Implementing these materials has been life changing! I have been able to establish strong, yet easy to follow routines that help our day to day run smoothy. Having pencil pouches has significantly decreased the number of lost or stolen pencils and coloring materials. Additionally, students are taking care of their scissors and glue because they have a safe and accessible place to store them! The use of seat pockets has helped in keeping students desks and learning areas organized. Students have learned that keeping our resources in their designated spaces keeps us organized and on task! \r\n I use my Post-it Super Sticky Easel Pad for all of my anchor charts and student data tracking.
