My students are the best. I have 12 students this year, 9 girls and 3 boys. It is my smallest class ever. This is every teacher's dream. A class of this size allows for so much more individualized instruction. My children are not only learning the grade appropriate content but they are also helping to develop additional research topics. This month we are focusing on the cold. My students generated a list of over 20 topics they would like to learn more about. We are utilizing the web and books in our classroom library to continue learning.
Our school is amazing as well. We attend school in Camden, NJ. It is a large school with an emphasis on safety and procedures. Respect and responsibility are the foundation of our environment. With all of these things in place it is easy to establish a classroom with a true culture for learning. My students speak freely and ask questions. They also have several opportunities throughout the day to discuss their learning with their peers but they need additional reading material in our classroom.
