They were given a silhouette of a body that they had to turn into their character, incorporating symbols that represent their character's beliefs, motivations, and growth. This is nice but with your generosity we are able to enhance our learning by bookending this with dissections of worms, cow eyes, and finishing with a higher level vertebrates. I read the novel with seniors who were approaching graduation and it was a great way to allow them to reflect back on how the choices they made at the start of their high school career have influenced where they are now.
