This year we are attempting to get students interested in the sciences with an even greater emphasis on hands-on projects. The Microscopes will allow students to see the retina and eye tissue at a cellular level after a step-by-step dissection of the eye. The eyeball dissection will be an integral part of our nervous system/body systems unit. The microscopes will allow for reinforcement of the major underlying theme of biology at the cellular level. Students will have had some experience with microscopes from the beginning of the year but this project will hopefully allow them to make the connection between cells and functional tissue.
