We love using these with group work during math time. \r\n\r\nYour donation also made it possible for us to reward students with small prizes—like erasers, calculators, sunglasses, and socks—when they reach goals in reading, sight words, and math. These rewards may seem small, but they truly motivate our students to work hard and celebrate their progress.\r\n\r\nThe new storage bins help us keep materials organized and easily accessible for everyone. Our classroom runs smoother, and students can quickly grab what they need for each activity.\r\n\r\nWe are especially grateful for the community helper books. The day the boxes arrived, my third graders were bursting with excitement. They crowded around the materials, wide-eyed, saying things like, \"Is this really for us?\" and \"We get to build this?\"\r\nWe've already jumped into some amazing projects. During a recent lesson on designing solutions to real-world problems (Utah SEEd standard 3.3.4), students used the Fairy Tale Engineering Kit to build a bridge for the Three Billy Goats Gruff. They worked in teams to brainstorm ideas, draw blueprints, and build prototypes. As they tested and adjusted their bridges, I saw collaboration, critical thinking, and so much pride in their work.\r\n These moments are helping them connect science concepts to the real world in ways that reading from a textbook simply cannot.\r\nWe are now using these STEM tools during science instruction, small group stations, and early finisher time. Next, we are planning a student-led invention challenge where students will identify a classroom problem and design a solution using what they have learned about engineering.\r\nYour donation made it possible for my students to see themselves as scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers. This benefitted most of my students during different programs and activities. It helped them express big feelings and emotions better and empowered them to understand how teachers can support them during these moments at school.\r\n\r\nOur classroom thrived, and the quiet books provided students with educational quiet activities to keep their hands busy while learning to sit at circle time, engage in table activities, or during playtime when a student chose this activity over others.\r\n\r\nIt was a beautiful reminder of the importance of meeting all students where they are, finding ways for them to express big ideas and feelings, and empowering them to ask for what they need.
