I feel it is so important for the students to get up and move. It truly makes their brains work better. Exercise in our youth today competes with the video games and this project was aimed at getting them up and moving away from a screen. \r\n\r\nWhen I gave these watches to the students they were so excited. They come in everyday and tell me how many steps they have. I have had parents email me that their student asks them to go walking each night. It has made a huge impact on these kids. I have one student who goes home to play basketball everyday now so he can try to beat the others students step count. \r\n\r\nI had a contest with my class. Who can get the most steps by Spring break. They wrote their steps down daily and the day before spring break I gave the winner a prize. It was a fitness prize. Thank you so much for caring about this generation and your generosity was completely awesome! You are a rock star.
