Our school has an AMAZING outdoor classroom. All subjects and classes, including our fine arts and special education classes, have access to this great space. In a typical school year it can be used by multiple classes a day for several months due to our nice weather, but there is already limited seating. Right now, due to Covid-related restrictions, we are unable to use this alternative learning area at all. With just a few wooden benches, we are unable to social distance. Middle school students LOVE to get comfy while they learn, and floor pillows and fun chairs can't be used right now, so they are sitting in their desks all day long while wearing their masks. These 30 cushions could provide a comfortable way for students to sit or lie down outside while they work and learn, and allow them to be socially distant and mask free! Being able to engage students in a lesson, art assignment, or even have them reading a book or writing a paper while listening to the sounds of nature from the treeline nearby would truly be an amazing gift! These cushions do not hold or absorb water, so they can easily be sprayed with disinfectant and stored for the next class to use. They will stay by the outdoor classroom for easy access and convenience. These cushions will still be of great use to us after these precautions are lifted.
