Yoga mats will make it possible to incorporate new movements, flexibility, and strength exercises to enhance dance training. In addition to physical benefits that will help dance students, Yoga is also known to relieve stress and focus the mind. My classes are typically large which can mean lots of distractions, and many students have trouble focusing. I’ve found that incorporating yoga, relaxation, and other dance technique exercises can help to improve student focus and concentration. Students will practice yoga 2-3 days a week for 15 minutes at a time. Students will also be able to use mats during group rotations to practice independently. Yoga mats will be able to be used year after year benefitting even more students.
