We used the balloons and decorations to create an inviting atmosphere that helped ease the excitement and nervousness of starting school. The large pencils were a wonderful hands-on resource for the children to engage with signing their Kindergarten Pledge.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the vibrant balloons and giant pencils, their faces lit up with joy and wonder. Many of them were eager to explore the materials, which helped them feel more comfortable and connected to the classroom environment. The decorations helped set a positive, cheerful tone that encouraged both children and parents to feel excited about the year ahead. With such a strong start, the next steps for our students include building on this positive energy! My students love the flexibility of the seating. They are all comfortable with their cushions. If they choose a different seat such as a stool or wobbly seat, that gives them the option. They love being able to sit in groups on the floor using their cushions as well. \r\n\r\nThe calming corner now has the extra seat which is that supported cushion seat. I have a few kids who really gravitate towards that option. \r\n\r\nThe baskets and bins replaced baskets that I had previously purchased with my own money and were now looking very worn and cracked. We use them for collecting homework, class work, and for storing center activities. \r\n\r\nOf course, we could never have enough tissues and Clorox wipes. We go through those like crazy!\r\n\r\nIt is through kind people such as yourselves that classrooms across the country can operate to their highest potential! During testing preparation and practice sessions, students used the flexible seating and fidgets to help manage anxiety and maintain focus. Having access to snacks and mints also helped students feel energized and ready to learn. One particularly memorable moment was watching students independently choose the tools that worked best for them and then remain engaged and focused throughout our testing practice activities.\r\n\r\nAs we continue preparing for academic success, these resources will remain an important part of our classroom environment.
