This year I have students on many different academic levels which makes lesson planning that much more difficult. Incorporating Scholastic news into my lessons makes life a little easier. I was able to order Scholastic News on a few different levels therefore allowing my higher functioning students independent reading that they are interested in. These magazines offer many subjects that are more interesting to my students and give me the opportunity to see real discussion and written work. The subjects offered in the magazines are things that kids are interested in such as dinosaurs, candy and animals. These subjects allow the students to create better discussion and add their own experiences and knowledge to it. \r\nThank you for helping me give something to talk about, that is fun and exciting, to my class!! My students are always excited to play these new games and regularly ask to get them out during our afternoon social time. Other Autistic Support Classrooms have even borrowed a game or two to utilize in their classrooms.
