I'd like to share a few things we have accomplished with it so far, as well as some of our future plans for this awesome tool. While I originally requested the printer to help the robotics team, it has had a far greater impact on my regular classes than I ever anticipated.\r\n\r\nThe robotics team has been learning to use the printer during their off-season. Beyond that, my computer science students used it to enter a media and design competition, and they even leveraged their projects for a survey and data science competition.\r\n\r\nSince one of our programs allows students to create 3D objects using code, I encouraged them to enter the 3D design category of the media and design competition. They designed and printed highly practical objects, including a soap dispenser and a specialized chess set to help beginners learn the game. Our students ended up sweeping first, second, and third place in the school-level competition, and the team that advanced to districts took home second place. Your donation has already made half of my class winners!\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the robotics team wanted to print items to raise funds. This tied perfectly into the data science competition; students designed or sourced various items, then surveyed their peers to analyze demand and determine if the objects were worth printing. Through this project, they gathered valuable, real-world data for their competition submissions. Remarkably, one of our robotics students even won a scholarship through the competition!\r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for this amazing gift.
