Our project is needed to provide mats for our Competitive Cheerleading student-athletes. Our male and female cheerleaders need mats to be able practice safely and relieve their stress of landing on a hard surface. Our cheerleaders practice on 1 panel mat or old folding mats in our gymnasium or auditorium over a hardwood floor . Cheerleading teams and organizations require 9 panel mats for all competitions. Our athletes need the mats so they can practice effective tumbling, jumping, and stunting and be able to land on a soft surface to prevent injury. The soft surface will provide emotional support and confidence in our male and female athletes. The safety factor is our biggest concern and liability as one group falls students can get seriously injured which could be traumatic. By having these mats, our team will be able to work as a true competitive spirit team. Using spacing, tumbling, choreography throughout the season and be able to strength our team during the year by having open gym and working on building and enhancing skills. It will take our team to the next level and build the confidence our team needs.
