I also need need carabiners to hang signage.\r\n\r\nThe popsicles will serve as a simple but meaningful way to help students cool down, relax, and connect with one another during orientation activities—especially if the weather is warm.\r\nThis small gesture can go a long way in easing nerves and building a sense of community from day one.\r\n\r\nCarabiners will be used as a functional tool for students to keep track of important items such as ID cards, schedules, or small supplies. It was nearly impossible to give a fast enough \"orientation\" to the materials once students saw them arranged on our supplies shelf. Students couldn't wait to get started selecting, cutting, and gluing.\r\n\r\nStudents used yoga mats to make durable, high-friction soles that were also comfortable. They decorated their sneakers with attractive and colorful laces. They easily cut foam, fabric, and cardboard with the electric shears, which we will use for many projects to come!\r\n\r\nI love this project because it allows students to take measurements (of friction and cushioning), compare them to desired criteria and immediately make changes to reduce or amplify any shoe features by adding or taking away materials.
