Before, our classroom often felt muggy and uncomfortable, especially during Oklahoma's humid months. Now, the air is cleaner, fresher, and far more conducive to learning. Students no longer complain about the dampness in the air or the musty smell that sometimes lingered in the corners of our old building. Instead, they can focus, breathe easily, and feel comfortable spending long periods of time reading, researching, and collaborating.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments came the day we unpacked and set up the new dehumidifier. A few students gathered around, curious about how it worked, and we turned it into a quick mini-lesson on air quality, condensation, and why maintaining a balanced environment helps preserve our classroom materials and improve focus. Within hours, they noticed the difference in how the room felt—several even commented that it \"smelled like a brand new classroom.\" It was such a small but meaningful reminder that environment truly impacts learning.\r\n\r\nWith this new resource, our classroom is healthier, cleaner, and more inviting—a space where students can think and create without distraction. As we continue our history and research projects this year, the improved air quality helps protect our books, documents, and art supplies while keeping our students comfortable and engaged. This gift has improved not just our room, but our daily learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1723265912241,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-students-with-essential-suppl/8573497/","projectTitle":"Empowering Students with Essential Supplies for a Thriving Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. d'Andriole-Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6606794_orig.jpg?crop=2778,2778,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1643989438998","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6606794"},{"teacherId":399351,"projectId":9620477,"letterContent":"My AP Physics students have been very excited to use the different colored tape while we have been conducting labs. Students grab what they need before settling into group projects or independent work, and I've noticed that they are more focused, less restless, and more willing to participate in discussions. Having something to eat or drink has given them the energy to push through tough assignments without the distraction of hunger.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward with big projects, like preparing for presentations and IB assessments, these resources will continue to be a lifeline for students.
