These disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizers, tissues, and swiffer floor cleaners help us to keep the classroom a healthy space for all. Our custodians do a great job cleaning our room at the end of the day, but these items help us to stay clean throughout the day. I like to wipe down the tables between classes to keep students healthy. The hand sanitizer and tissues offer students a way to take care of their basic needs. The paper towels and swiffer wipes help us to clean up spills when they are made. Finally, students love the lint rollers. I use them to clean up pencil shavings, glitter, and similar small items, but students use them as intended. I never expected the lint rollers to be such a hit, but students that aren't even in my class stop by to use them. Each week has a lesson theme with a Friday review. Every other Friday we do an escape room. It's also an excellent way to review what we learned through the week and it gives me an idea which lessons students have a solid grasp on and which parts of the lessons may need additional review. \r\nDonors, I appreciate your support of our classroom. Because of your generosity, every student now proudly wears a lanyard in their house color with a name badge that has their house logo and name on it, creating a visible sense of unity, belonging, and school pride throughout our building.\r\n\r\nWhen the lanyards arrived, students were so excited to receive them at their next house meeting. You could feel the energy in the hallways as students compared colors, celebrated their house names, and began cheering for their teams. For many of our students, this was the first time they experienced a sense of school community that extended beyond their classrooms—and it was all thanks to this simple, meaningful gift.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the lanyards as part of our House Program, which encourages positive behavior, teamwork, and school spirit. Students earn points for their houses by demonstrating honor, accountability, worthy, knowledge, and safety. Each Friday, we celebrate the house that earned the most points that week. That houses flag gets to fly on the flag pole outside of the school. \r\n\r\nA memorable moment came when one student said, \"Now it feels like we're really part of something!\" That statement alone captures the impact your donation has made—it gave our students a shared identity and pride in being part of our school family.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're planning House Competitions and Community Service Challenges that will continue to strengthen teamwork and leadership skills. These lanyards will be an ongoing symbol of that unity and motivation to do their best both academically and socially.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and helping us build a positive, connected school culture. These books are doing more than filling our shelves—they are helping students build important reading skills like comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. Graphic novels are especially powerful for visual learners, allowing students to connect pictures with words and better understand plot and character development. The Spanish fiction books are also supporting language growth and cultural awareness, giving students a chance to see themselves and their heritage in the stories they read.\r\n\r\n Reading time in the library has become one of the most exciting parts of our students' week. You'll find students sitting together, sharing favorite scenes, and recommending books to their friends. Many of our readers who once struggled to stay engaged are now eager to check out the next book in a series. The mix of English and Spanish stories encourages students to switch between languages with confidence and curiosity.\r\n\r\n Thank you for helping us create a library where every student feels welcome, seen, and excited to read.","fullyFundedDate":1760067771441,"projectUrl":"project/a-world-of-words-expanding-our-spanish/9707946/","projectTitle":"A World of Words: Expanding Our Spanish Collection","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Clifton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9780301"},{"teacherId":8415762,"projectId":9819392,"letterContent":"None of my students has their own instruments, and the school provides all of the materials.
