Our students not only need but require repeated practice with lessons/activities as part of their educational goals. In order for these materials to be able to withstand the duration of the topic, we very often need to laminate the resources. We laminate task box activities, file folder activities, and other worksheets in which students can use dry erase markers to trace, write, and complete activities. Through the repeated use of task boxes and file folders activities, our students are able to foster independence by completed activities individually, gain skills needed to function in society as an individual, and expand their knowledge on various topics. A laminating machine is a quintessential resource to any special education department and its value to our students in limitless. Many of our students also require visual schedules/picture supports to aid them in easily transitioning from one activity to the other, or one classroom to another. These schedules need to hold up between schedule changes, room changes, lunch, recess, and any other place the students travel to.
