At our school we want to do everything we can to encourage our students' success. Reading is an extremely important skill for students to master and it is crucial to current and later success in life. To encourage our students to read and to help them improve on an individual basis, we utilize a program called Achieve 3000. This program helps to identify a student's reading range and personalizes stories and passages for students to read to tailor a plan for improvement. This is a points based system that easily allows teachers to track the progress of each student. At the end of each month, we hold a party for every student that meets their personalized reading goal. The requested items, like tents, hammocks, earbuds, and speakers will be given to students as prizes during our monthly reading party. Invited students will participate in a game of bingo for prizes. Every student will receive some sort of prize. The listed prizes are for the first few bingo winners.
