I have loved listening to their conversations grow as they decide what to cook, ask one another for items, assign roles, and create their own imaginative stories.\r\n\r\nThe kitchen has been especially helpful for encouraging language development. During dramatic play, my students naturally use new vocabulary and complete sentences as they interact with their classmates. They are also practicing independence and real-life routines, such as cleaning up after themselves, putting items where they belong, and working together to complete a task.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things has been watching their creativity take over.
