My biggest goal was to support my students and meet them where they are. I have been able to sit down with students who are experiencing these emotions and let them know that it is okay to feel these things, but most importantly how we can use our coping skills in the future. We have been able to learn about self-regulation, and techniques we can use in the real world when we get upset or have big emotions as we call them. \r\n\r\nWith that being said, our books about diversity have been such a good help. My students have been able to pick up the books and make comments about how the characters look like them. I have noticed that the students have been gravitating towards those books the most when it comes to picking a story. \r\n\r\nI am so thankful and grateful for all of the love and support. The addition of the wireless printer has allowed us to quickly print differentiated materials, student work, and visual supports right when we need them. Instead of waiting or working around limited resources, I can immediately respond to student needs, whether that's providing extra practice, enrichment activities, or printing writing pieces for students to proudly share. This has helped lessons run more smoothly and has made learning more accessible and responsive.\r\n\r\nThe storage cabinet and chair pockets have completely transformed how students manage their materials. Students now have designated spaces for their supplies, which has cut down on lost items and transition time. This means more time focused on instruction and less time spent organizing. It has also helped students build responsibility and independence, as they take ownership of their own learning spaces.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students the most are the engaging reward and sensory items. The drawing boards, putty, and fidget tools have been powerful motivators and supports for focus. Students are eager to earn these items, and they've become especially helpful for those who need extra support with attention or self-regulation. I've seen students who previously struggled to stay on task become more engaged and confident when given these tools. A few have even expressed interest in writing their own mysteries!\r\n\r\nThe playing cards have also been a tremendous hit! The students use them often to practice their multiplication facts. Their favorite game to play is War. As an added bonus, using the cards to play math games is also teaching the students to use good sportsmanship.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the texts and playing cards, everything else funded in this project has been greatly appreciated.
