I try my best to incorporate academics and curriculum into my speech and language therapy sessions. The materials I received from this Donors Choose project will especially help me target writing alongside my articulation and language lessons. My students were very excited to receive new folders and stickers they can use to personalize them. They were also very excited to try the new pencil grips. A few students even asked if they could be added as an option in our treasure box so they can take them to use outside of the speech room. The other fine motor and writing games and activities have been great to rotate into my lessons to allow fun activities in which they can target fine motor, phonics, articulation and writing. I have also been using the articulation cards to show students correct placement when sounding out words to spell. I have over 55 students on my caseload, from grades kindergarten through 5th grade, and all of them have benefitted from this generous donation.
