While I teach in a Title I school, we don't have a color printer available to the teachers. The color printer would be used to create exciting new learning stations and activities for our first graders. In first grade we do a lot of sorting activities and it would be great for the students to have color copies of the items they are sorting. Many times, black and white copies make it hard for students to recognize what is in the picture. First graders need to be engaged and looking at black and white pictures is not as captivating as working with colored pictures. I would also use the color printer to make copies of printable books with colored pictures to make the stories come alive. First graders deserve to have bright, vibrant materials.
