Utilizing technology in the classroom is becoming a new norm, including many schools having one to one devices to assist students in their educational journey. Entering a Special Needs classroom one would see that technology is also of the utmost importance. My students have made amazing gains and progress over the course of their educational careers and watching them make this progress has been absolutely inspiring. The use of technology in their educational journeys has assisted on an individual level and overall as a class. Utilizing technology as a reinforcer to assist the students in meeting their goals has proven to be effective in not only my class but classes across the nation. Many classrooms use iPads as a method of communication. In my class I have students that are nonverbal. The iPad assists with communicating their needs between the student and the teacher. Finally blended learning, the use of programs on the computer to learn, is becoming the new age method of learning. By having the iPad in the classroom this allows for more differentiation within the classroom and can assist in meeting the needs of every student in the classroom.
