We have ordered coconut coir and pencils for the classroom use. We have integrated Green Our Planet lessons into our daily Science block. Instead of just reading about conservation, the students are now getting their hands dirty and building their own wick system using Hydroponics. \r\nJust yesterday for Earth Day, my students have created the wick systems to sell at the farmers market. When the plants are finally growing, students are excited to see new plants that can grow. Some of the students were able to attend the Farmer's Market to experience the sale of fresh produce and creative strawberry rocks. Students have used the coir to transplant the Aloe Vera plants into those tiny pots. We have saved the bricks for future use of transplanting the plants when ready to be out of the Hydroponics system.
