For several of them, it was the very first time they had ever owned something that represented their school in such an official and special way. Seeing their pride as they stood together, looking like a real, unified team for the first time, was such a powerful and unforgettable moment.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these materials, our cheerleaders have already been putting them to good use. They wear their uniforms and use their pom poms at school games, assemblies, and community events to bring energy, school spirit, and pride to our entire student body. Having matching gear has given them a new level of confidence and professionalism. They no longer feel like just a small after-school group—they feel like an important part of our school's identity. This change has motivated them to work harder on their routines and to carry themselves with responsibility and discipline, knowing that they are representing not only themselves but also their classmates, teachers, and families.\r\n\r\nWhat makes this gift even more meaningful is the fact that we are a Title I school, where many families simply cannot afford the extra costs that come with extracurricular activities. For many of our students, cheerleading would not have been possible without this project. For example, we recently used the Touch Read Phonics Word Match and Build-A-Word Crayon Boxes to create a fun phonics station. This hands-on activity allowed them to apply phonics skills while engaging with peers.\r\n\r\nMy students were overjoyed! When we opened the boxes, they were excited to explore the colorful Alphabet Soup Sorters and magnetic ten frames. Their smiles and gasps of delight said it all—they couldn't wait to start learning with the new materials.\r\n\r\nNext, we're using the Unifix Letter and Blend Cubes to help students build words with blends and digraphs. The plan is to incorporate these into a literacy game where students create and decode words in a timed challenge. We will also use the Lakeshore Counting Cones for an upcoming math lesson focused on sequencing and number sense.
