The students in my school are reading far below grade level. I want the students in my classroom to develop an appreciation for reading. As such I believe they will greatly benefit from the bean bag chairs and the colorful rug for their class library because it will make it an enticing part of our classroom. The Mo Willems' books are a wonderful resource for emerging readers and the central theme of the books is friendship and they are favored by children. By donating to our project, you can help me achieve my goal for this school year; which is to get my students excited about reading so that it becomes an activity that they do for fun. I have also requested dry erase white boards to help my students practice their writing and the boards can also be used during our mathematics instruction as an interactive tool. Lastly, I have requested a classroom mailbox so that the students have a place to store their work throughout the day and can easily pick it up when it is time to pack up for home.
