They've made a real difference in how my students engage with their learning. There is usually a handful of families who are unable to provide headphones due to the cost, so it is awesome that students do not have to worry about not having headphones. We just successfully finished our state MAP test. \r\n\r\nHeadphones are essential for the little ones because most are still learning how to read. Therefore, the headphones make an impact in listening to the questions. The students are enjoying having their own set of headphones, and it's helping them stay on track during lessons. Other than our MAP test, headphones are used for some computer learning programs and your support has made it easier for them to get the most out of their learning time. I am writing to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous donations, which provided funding for a variety of engaging and educational materials for my fifth-grade classroom. Thanks to your support, we were able to purchase place value dry erase boards, fraction equivalency cards, atoms and molecules poster sets, a sun-moon-earth planetarium, a giant array chart, and BrainQuest Smart Card trivia sets.\r\n\r\nThese resources have made an immediate and meaningful impact on my students' learning. The place value boards and fraction cards have brought abstract math concepts to life, giving students hands-on tools to build confidence and improve their number sense. The giant array chart has become a favorite tool during math centers, helping students visualize multiplication and division in new ways.\r\n\r\nIn science, the atoms and molecules posters and sun-moon-earth planetarium have sparked curiosity and deeper understanding of complex topics. Students are asking thoughtful questions and making exciting connections during our science units, thanks to these visual and interactive learning aids.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your generosity has shown our students that their education matters—and that there are people who believe in their potential. These materials have transformed lessons into experiences, and your support has helped foster a classroom environment where learning is both meaningful and memorable.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students, thank you once again for your commitment to education and for investing in our future leaders.","fullyFundedDate":1699452809199,"projectUrl":"project/stepping-up-in-math-and-science/7929532/","projectTitle":"Stepping Up in Math and Science","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. A.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp603963_orig.jpg?crop=2448,2448,x0,y652&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1633056498547","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/iturner"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_124324","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":636,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":54,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.7,"schoolId":124324,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Earl N Jenkins Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Earl N Jenkins Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/clark-county-school-district/earl-n-jenkins-elementary-school/124324"}
