My students are awesome; I currently have 24 first graders that are eager to learn about the world around them. My school serves a working class neighborhood where many of my students come from homes where both parents work in order to provide for their families. While all of my parents have established a sense of self-accomplishment in their children, my classroom is a vehicle for allowing my students to explore, exceed, and learn in ways that are innovative and exciting. Because most of my students do not have much exposure to technology at home, they are always eager and roused when lessons that integrate technology in the classroom are introduced. This level of excitement is overwhelming and opportunities like this must be seized when students are that thrilled to learn something new.
