As a screen-free collaboration activity, these kits created meaningful opportunities for students to engage in hands-on problem solving while also involving caregivers in the learning process. Students returned to class excited to share their experiences—describing how they worked through challenges together, explained concepts like circuits and energy flow, and celebrated small successes when their projects finally lit up or functioned correctly. This connection between home and school strengthened not only their understanding of STEM concepts but also their confidence in explaining what they learned.\r\n\r\nThe impact was both academic and social-emotional. Students developed a deeper sense of ownership over their work, knowing they had built something meaningful alongside their families. The process encouraged perseverance, communication, and creativity, as students and family members collaborated to troubleshoot and improve their designs. For many, it transformed STEM from a classroom subject into a shared experience, reinforcing that learning can happen anywhere and with anyone. Overall, the wooden circuit kits fostered a sense of pride, curiosity, and connection—turning a simple project into a memorable and enriching family learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1771789369616,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-stem/9880312/","projectTitle":"Hands-on STEM","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. T","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10074322_orig.jpg?crop=284,284,x75,y103&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754673027436","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10074322"},{"teacherId":6884917,"projectId":9944927,"letterContent":"Words can't express the impact your support has had with my kindergarten students.
