I work in a public elementary school in the inner-city of Springfield, Massachusetts. All of the students in our school qualify for free lunch due to their low income status. Their economic status also hinders their families from affording basic school needs such as pencils, erasers, crayons etc.. My classroom consists of 21 second grade students from many different cultural backgrounds. I have 6 students listed as English Language Learners with a wide range of needs and abilities. I also have 2 students who receive Special Education services. Our budget was cut for this school year so we do not have any money to purchase anything. My students abilities range from kindergarten level to second grade. I am in need of materials that would support them with their academic growth. I would like to be able to reach all 21 students that I service at their individual levels and would greatly appreciate your support.
