The project was focused on a special education/developmental preschool program. Some of the materials that were included in this project are pictured in the attached photos. My students now can use blocks that are easy to stack and are quiet and soft when they fall. Some of my students are sensitive to noise and textures. The color discovery boxes provide a supplemental resource to our weekly color that we focus on. The boxes are simple and include a picture on the outside of the box that accompanies and real object inside the box that is associated with the color. \r\nLastly the bristle blocks, give some support to my early builders as they might not have the hand strength to put together interlocking blocks but can push these types of blocks together and pull them apart. \r\nAll of the materials in this project have been used and are truly an asset to have to help my student with their fine and gross motor skills. Our school has a new book vending machine and each student needed to read 10 books to earn a gold coin to use to get a brand new book of their choice to keep. Students in my class used these books to help them reach that goal. I have had multiple parents mention how they are blown away by their child falling in love with reading and becoming such a better reader. There are even times when it is not time to read and my students sneak their books and try to read them because they now love reading so much more. Without these books and your support, that would have not been possible! \r\n\r\nMy new students this year are thrilled to have so many new books to choose from when reading. Pete the Cat and Elephant and Piggie are the biggest hit with them so far.
