Our current classroom library lacks engaging grade-level texts. Each of the books I've selected are from a class list of "books we'd love to read". Acquiring the literature that students are interested in will encourage a passion for reading, while simultaneously improving their ability to read independently. Due to financial limitations, the majority of my students are unable to obtain basic school supplies (pencils, notebooks, etc..). The products I've selected will provide them with the items they need to complete everyday tasks in the classroom. The "specialty" items (markers and paper) will allow my class to create projects/posters and work on whiteboards to demonstrate their understanding. Color-coding is an accommodation which benefits many of the children in my class. Using colored folders and notebooks will assist students in organizing their work for each academic subject. This is also beneficial in organizing student groups.
