I am the school coordinator for the 3rd largest school within the city I reside in. It serves just about 700 elementary students from Pre-K to 5th grade. Remote learning has been a huge adjustment, especially for the younger children. Our biggest focus this year is on the social emotional development of our children to help them process and cope with the changing times. Going remote started off challenging, but as we continue to navigate it, we have found many ways to be creative and engaging so that we can meet the needs of our students. We have a support team that include myself, the counselors, and Dean of Students. These tools and books will give us an opportunity to serve as many students as possible if we can each have a kit of our own to utilize while working from home. We can use them for small groups, lunch bunch, counseling check-ins, and more.
