It was used to carry watering cans, tools, bags of soil. Sometimes a student would climb in too and ask to be pulled. \r\n\r\nOur school is 3 stories high. It is very long and wide. In the past we have had to divide the tools, the gloves, the materials we are going to use and carry them through the school and then outside to the garden area. While it was not a very difficult thing to carry them manually, we were able to avoid water spills and long handled tools being carried too high in the air. There is something joyful watching a young man or woman running across the ground pulling a wagon. \r\n\r\nUnexpectedly, having the wagon helped with my lesson planning. I could put the various items needed for the next outdoor garden activity into the wagon during my prep. Since the project was funded, my position changed and instead of using the materials solely for my 11th and 12th grade writing class, I have had the opportunity to share the materials with three other English classes that I have had the privilege of working with and co-teaching in. \r\n\r\nTo start, the binders and tabs have kept my 8th graders organized. They materials are easily accessible and students are able to find what they need quickly!! The notebooks have been used within my 7th grade class as an interactive notebook filled with thoughts and ideas about the texts that we are reading!
