The 2020 AP Environmental Science exam is allowing graphing calculators for the first time, but our school's science department has none. Our math department does not have enough to supply all of its math teachers, so it will be extremely difficult to work out a schedule of sharing a class set. By funding this project, you are enabling a group of motivated students to succeed in taking a college-level class in high school and to be on equal footing with others across the country when taking the AP exam. In order to continue finding success in and beyond high school in any STEM field, students need the right technology to support them. Graphing calculators are are a basic need in high school and college, and being able to use them is a valued academic skill. By taking AP Environmental Science, my students are already showing initiative in the STEM fields. Please support and encourage them on this path.
