Students also learn to attend to precision and persevere in problem solving on their bicycle. We were able to use the balances when we conducted a calorimetry experiment where we measured different amounts of Calcium and recorded the temperature change. Students are now working on graphing those results and analyzing the data in Claim-Evidence-Reasoning lab reports. My students were so excited to see the scales, and no longer have to share four scales among the entire class. With this donation, we were able to spend a lot more time conducting the experiment and learning instead of waiting for a scale to use or unsuccessfully trying to fix it. Next year, I will get an entire new group of students, and I am excited to have a fully working complement of scales. Our students were able to help plant our front garden, which requires moving plants from our greenhouse to outside. Our students love being able to be part of the school garden.
