Paired with our classroom couches, it now feels warm, homey, and safe. A place where students naturally gravitate to read, collaborate, and learn together. For many of my students, this is the first time they've had a comfortable spot that feels like \"their own\" to curl up with a book, practice fluency, or engage in meaningful discussions with peers.\r\n\r\nI've already seen students settle into the space with excitement, choosing books more eagerly and working together more comfortably. These games help reinforce the skills that we are already learning but in a really fun and engaging way! When they walk in to my classroom on Fridays, the first thing that they ask is, \"are we playing the pop-it game?\" They love the learning games so much. \r\n\r\nOne of the games, King Komodo is a word game for older students. Not only does it build decoding skills and vocabulary development, it is really fun! It is harder to hook the older students, but they are hooked on these word games. One of the other games has really improved fluency in students who are working on reading short-vowel words.
