Each student is creating a presentation board that pairs a historical figure with a lesson on ethics, leadership, or empathy. During the walk, students will present their portfolios to their peers and exchange feedback. They enjoyed spending time with each other, encouraging one another to make beautiful items for our store. This was a great opportunity for them to learn about themselves.\r\n\r\nMany of my students may not work at a job site or maintain work employment, but giving them skills in creating things to sell will help them in making and selling products for \"pop up\" retail opportunities within the community, especially at craft fairs. This may help them contribute to their family household. The short power washer handles make it easier for us to access the right spaces under the car and in the wheel wells. Having the support of our donors with projects like these boost morale in our classroom. We have already provided car washes to staff members on campus. In the end, students created deep, hilarious, insightful, and collaborative work. I watched many of them transform from \"never readers\" to readers who laughed and talked about the books they read. We listened to podcasts about Wuthering Heights, Where the Crawdads Sing, Patron Saints of Nothing, and so many other titles.\r\n\r\nIn addition, books from this project have ended up in the hands of students who just spend recess and lunch in here and are cruising for something new and interesting.\r\n\r\nRight now we are in our last days of school. I'm hosting a ping pong tournament, and students are playing, laughing, teaming up, and enjoying the pure joy of competition and screen-free fun. The metal cutting saw provides us with a shorter work time, less fire hazards, and less injury potential because of its modern design. Students were able to generate more parts for our pole holders with less post processing in de-burring metal. In addition the saw produces less sparks and heat in the material, making parts safer to handle.\r\n\r\nWe were able to teach around 20 students how to use the equipment and make prototype pole holders. The next step for us would the to accumulate funds to do our first run of production pole holders in aluminum and stainless steel.
