I teach high school science on a small island in Hawai'i. My students come from diverse backgrounds. Many of them love outdoor activities: swimming, surfing, hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping. They are inquisitive and love learning about the world around them. Despite the many challenges that they face, my students strive to excel in the classroom. I do my best to prepare them for life after high school by providing challenging, rigorous curriculum. My students love to engage in labs and hands-on projects.
